How to Fix the Polaris Label Manager

Answer

Occasionally, but most often after Polaris upgrades, the Label Manager will be inaccessible for some users. This brief guide aims to walk users through how to quickly fix this issue.

1. Open the C: drive and locate Program Files, Program Files (x86), and Program Data (You'll need to enable hidden items in the View tab to see this folder). The next steps will apply to each of these folders.

2. Find the Polaris folder and open it, then locate the 7.x (whatever the most recent version is, ie: 7.8) folder and right-click it, then go into Properties.

3. Select the Security tab, and then select Edit next to 'To change permissions'.

4. In the list of 'Groups or user names', find the 'Users' group and select it.

5. Once 'Users' is selected, check the 'Full control - Allow' box below, click Apply, then OK.

This shouldn't have to be done more than once even if there are multiple users that access the workstation.
