Community Relationship - AMAR

Answer

COMMUNITY RELATIONSHIP
VILLAGE OF MARWAYNE LIBRARY BOARD POLICY

A partnership is a mutually beneficial arrangement in which the library shares resources with
another organization to complete a common goal.
The library shall endeavor to partner with individuals, groups and agencies offering community
programs to co-ordinate activities that align with the Library Plan of Service and Strategic Plan
as determined by library management. Partnerships will not in anyway compromise or contravene any
provincial or federal stature, or regulation or policy of the library, or reflect negatively on the
library.
Partnerships must not undermine the integrity of the non-commercial public space that the library
provides.
Partnerships will be at the discretion of the library manager and the board and may be subject to a
written agreement.
The library reserves the right to terminate an existing partnership if conditions arise that result
in a conflict with this policy, or if the sponsorship or partnership no longer supports the best
interests of the library.
