Answer

5.0       REPLACEMENT OF LIBRARY MATERIALS

A replacement is an item purchased to take the place of an identical title previously in the collection.  It is the library’s policy not to replace automatically all materials withdrawn because of loss, damage, or wear.  The need for replacement is based on:

a)         the existence of adequate coverage of the subject in the collection

b)         demand for the specific title or subject area

c)         an item will be replaced for a current book of greater accuracy
