The purpose of this Policy Manual is to guide the discretionary action of Board Members, Staff and Volunteers in the execution of their duties.
In providing quality library service, the Board, Staff and Volunteers accept as their basic standards these documents:
The Alberta Libraries Act,
The Libraries Regulation, and
Standards & Best Practices for Public Libraries in Alberta.
In accordance with their Letter of Understanding with the Town of Vegreville, the Board chooses to mirror the Town of Vegreville Employee Policies where applicable.
In the event that any provision of this policy conflicts with Federal or Provincial law, the provision of the law shall prevail without affecting the other provisions of this Policy Manual.
