Responsibilities of the Board

The Library Board has full management and control of the Library and shall, in accordance with regulations, organize, promote and maintain comprehensive and efficient library service in the community.
The Library Board is a corporation and, as such, is accountable and legally responsible for the Library.
The Library Board:
- Sets policies, ensures procedures to implement the same, and evaluates the operation of the Library.
- Authorizes long and short-term plans.
- Establishes committees to carry out the decisions of the Board.
- Sets the budget and ensures sufficient funds are available to meet it.
- Sets the Personnel Policy.
- Hires, directs and evaluates the Chief Library Clerk.
- Promotes the Library and library services in the community.
