Provisions of Library Materials for Persons Unable to use Print Materials

BACKGROUND
The CNIB makes available "talking books" in different formats to eligible patrons through public libraries.
POLICY
The Town of Bruderheim Library Board recognizes that persons unable to read or handle conventional print materials are entitled to access to library and information services.
GUIDELINES
1. The Town of Bruderheim Library Board will provide "talking books" for library patrons, eligible and registered for this service, through the CNIB.
2. Large print books are available to all patrons as a standard service of Metro Kalyn Community Library.
PROCEDURES
1. A person is eligible for the "talking book" service through the CNIB if he/she is blind or has a visual, physical or perceptual handicap and is therefore unable to use conventional print material.
2. The patron must register with the CNIB for this service.
