Computer & Internet Access Guidelines

The Internet public access computers will be available during regular library hours.
BOOKING PROCEDURES
Use of the Internet Access Computers are on an appointment basis after which first come first served.
- Advance bookings may be made by phone during Library hours (689-4161) or e-mail. (librarian@boylepublib.ab.ca).
- One ½ hour time slot may be booked in advance.
- Priority is given to advance bookings.
- Additional ½ hour slots may be booked on site, if available.
- Exams with 2 to 3 hour time periods will take priority and must be booked ahead
USAGE RESTRICTIONS
These Internet Computers are provided as an information source for the public.
Please
-Do not access illegal or obscene sites (e.g. pornography).
-Do not use for illegal purposes.
There will be consequences for breech of the above restrictions. (see Library Internet Policy).
AGE RESTRICTIONS
- Persons over the age of 16 will be considered adults.
- To access the Internet, users ages 10 to 15 will require an Internet Use Permission Form, signed by a parent or guardian.
- Users under the age of 10 must be under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian.
PRINTING
If you wish to print a black and white paper copy, there will be a charge of $.25 per page, including wasted sheets. $0.10 per page for school age children. For Color it will be $0.50 for adult and $0.25 for children.
PRIVACY
Material downloaded or save to a computer hard drive has no expectation of privacy.
Material saved to computer hard drives will be deleted daily.
ASSISTANCE
Library staff are available to help patrons access the Internet on the computer, but cannot provide in-depth training. Staff may be able to assist with general questions and offer search suggestions.
