How to Deliver Items
Answer
How to Deliver Items
There are two different ways to send items to other libraries:
- Van Run
- Mail (Canada Post)
Van run should always be the first choice for delivery, however, sometimes you will have to use Canada Post.
Van Run Delivery
- NLLS driver will deliver items according to a weekly schedule provided to member libraries in advance and posted on the website.
- Each library will receive at least two bins for items. More bins can be requested any time and they will be delivered in the next scheduled van run. NLLS driver will drop off bins and pick up packed bins to return to NLLS - the driver does not pack or unpack bins.
- Staff at NLLS will unpack and sort items for delivery to their destinations.
- There are multiple solutions for sending items by mail. You can purchase a scale for your library to weigh its own items and attach postage yourself, you can take items to Canada Post to have them mail and post it directly, or you can send items to NLLS to mail on your behalf. It is more efficient to mail directly from your location. Please contact NLLS or Canada Post for more information.
